On Sunday morning, we woke to the tragic news of the murder of six hostages held captive by Hamas and the killing of three police officers. Just a week ago, we received the heartbreaking news of the death of Sergeant first class Evyatar Atuar z"l, a graduate of our leadership program.
In the face of this complex and stark reality that has been thrust upon us, we remain committed to promoting meaningful actions for a better future in education, agriculture, and community security. It is our duty to hold on to the belief that things can improve—and that it is within our power to make it happen.
Our ongoing efforts embody hope, optimism, and renewal, supported by partners such as the Social Division in the Ministry of Defense. Together, we will strengthen Israeli society, focusing on new initiatives like opening 'Adam V'Adama schools in the Gaza Envelope and in Nitsana, close to the Egyptian border, and welcoming thousands of volunteers for harvests and other essential activities. We are here with you, and we will continue to fight for our land through actions and education. We stand ready to support farmers in need, anywhere and anytime—now, more than ever. |

A New Agricultural Neighborhood will be Established in Arad, in Memory of the Late Colonel Yoni Steinberg |
About a month before the outbreak of the war, we met with the Nahal Brigade General at the time, Col. Yoni Steinberg and told him about the idea of establishing an agricultural farm near the Nahal base nearby Arad. Yoni was enthusiastic about the idea and helped promote the project. On Simchat Torah, the 7th of October in one of the heroic battles, tragically Yoni was killed in action.
Yoni was a man of the land, a fearless warrior and a revered commander. It was immediately clear to us that the vision that had excited him would be built in his name, and today the vision is becoming a reality: about 20 families will soon move into the new agricultural neighborhood that will be built in Arad named after Col. Yoni Steinberg.
"This is a revival, a correction to the destruction we experienced," said Uri Sapir, HaShomer Hachadash's deputy director. |

Preparations are Underway for Emergency Response at the Northern Border |
Israel faces serious security threats in the North. HaShomer HaChadash, along with its emergency forest protector teams, is ready to step in when needed. The emergency response teams extinguish fires, evacuate military crossings, and assist the wounded and other civilians. Our organizational and national experience teaches us that it is better to be prepared. To this end, we are launching an immediate emergency readiness operation to purchase of emergency equipment and are asking for donations and your support.

A Time of Unity and Renewal in the New Movement |
Hundreds of participants from the New Movement, HaShomer HaChadash's youth movement , joined the significant "Lemanam" or "For Their Sake" initiative—a heartfelt demonstration of connection and unity organized by bereaved parents and families of hostages. Just before Tisha B'Av, these young people gathered at intersections across the country, especially in the south, after volunteering with local farmers. They stood with flags and signs, handing out candies to passers-by, spreading a message of solidarity.

When our gap year participants or 'Shinsinim' from the New Movement's center in Harish learned that Kibbutz Bari wanted to convert its damaged senior citizens' club into a clinic, they eagerly took on the task. Armed with basic tools and an endless desire to help, they cleaned the soot-covered, dirt-filled, and burnt-out space, transforming it into a new clinic within just a few hours -showing that the greatest force for change is the strength of unity and the desire to help others.
